wee cookbooks
A wee idea to immortalise the recipes that shape us
My mum was born in the fifties. She has a clear file of handwritten recipes, each gifted to her at dinner parties she attended, or copied out when the ladies brought a plate. Her Edmonds cookbook is pockmarked with cocoa and decades-old sugar. And her copy of Women’s Weekly Birthday Cakes has been flicked through by my siblings and me, (and now our children), so many times the edges are losing their ink. Those recipe books tell stories, ones we don’t want to lose.
Wee Cookbooks make it really easy for my mum to record the stories, and preserve her memories and recipes in a way that can be beautifully shared with the whole family.
Wee Cookbooks can help share your family food stories too. It mixes memories with recipes to create a personalised, printable cookbook to share with loved ones.
How it works.
You’ll be sent a prompt each week about the food you love to make, dishes that spark memories, and recipes that have been handed down. You can choose to make your book as detailed or as simple as you wish, adding imagery to bring the words to life, and you’ll have a chance to edit all of your answers at the end. A bit of magic in the back will take all your stories and create a personalised keepsake.
