Fast Foodies opens Wee Fest 2026 with a quick-fire evening of Southland food stories, ideas, and opinions. A lineup of locals, chefs, producers, makers, growers, and food-adjacent humans, each take the floor for five minutes, and not a second more.

The brief: You’ve got five minutes. Do what you like with it.

So expect anything.

Every talk connects to Southland food in some way, but beyond that, it’s up to them. The best ones tend to be niche, specific, and a little unexpected.

Between speakers, wander the brewery, grab something to eat, and settle in with a drink. Nicola McGilvray’s work will be part of the space, adding another layer to the night.
